Argo FET battery isolators allow simultaneous charging of three battery banks from a single alternator or charger without interconnecting them. During discharge, the batteries are fully isolated. This ensures the starter battery remains charged, even if the service or auxiliary banks are depleted.
The Main Advantage: Negligible voltage loss The primary benefit of FET (Field Effect Transistor) technology is the extremely low voltage drop: less than 0.02V at low current and only 0.1V at full output. There is no need to increase the alternator's output voltage, ensuring a highly efficient charging process.
Alternator ‘Energize’ Connection Modern alternators often require voltage on the B+ terminal to start charging. The Argo FET features a dedicated current-limited 'Energize' input that provides voltage to the alternator when the ignition is turned on, guaranteeing an immediate start.
