The Victron Cyrix-i 400A is a heavy-duty, microprocessor-controlled relay. It automatically connects batteries in parallel when one reaches a preset voltage (charging) and disconnects them when the voltage drops (discharging). It offers a perfect alternative to diode isolators as it features zero voltage loss.
Key Features:
Intelligent Voltage Monitoring: Prevents nuisance switching by analyzing voltage trends. Short dips are ignored, ensuring system stability.
Start Battery Priority: Typically, the alternator is connected to the starter battery. Once it reaches the threshold, the Cyrix connects other banks (e.g., bow thruster or house batteries) in parallel.
Bidirectional Sensing: Measures voltage on both battery banks. This allows the Cyrix to engage even if the house battery is being charged by a solar controller or AC charger.
Start Assist: In emergencies, a push button can engage the relay for 30 seconds to assist starting from the house bank.
Dual Power Supply: Will operate even if one battery has too low a voltage, but prevents engagement below 2V (12V) or 4V (24V) for safety.
