Similar to the Argo Diode isolators, the Argo FET series is designed to charge multiple battery banks simultaneously from a single alternator or charger. During discharge, the battery sets are fully isolated by the Argo FET. This ensures the starter battery remains fully charged, even when the service bank is depleted.
The Great Advantage: Negligible voltage loss The primary benefit of FET (Field Effect Transistor) technology is the extremely low voltage drop: less than 0.02V at low current and only 0.1V at full output. This eliminates the need to increase the alternator's output voltage, ensuring a more efficient and faster charge.
Alternator ‘Energize’ Connection Modern alternators often require voltage on the B+ terminal to start charging. The Argo FET includes a dedicated current-limited 'Energize' input that provides voltage to the alternator when the ignition switch is turned on, ensuring an immediate start of the charging process.
